Genesis 7, Biblical Comments; ASV Bible Text

1 And Jehovah said unto Noah, Come you and all your house into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast you shall take to you seven and seven, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not clean two, the male and his female: 3 of the birds also of the heavens, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living thing that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the ground. 5 And Noah did according unto all that Jehovah commanded him. … 13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; 14 they, and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. 15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh wherein is the breath of life. 16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him: and Jehovah shut him in.

Comments Genesis 7. Note: in this comment, we refer to kind as a group of animals that can breed together and type to differentiate the animals within a kind group. Before the Lord sent the rain on the earth, the Lord Himself had selected the animals already; there were many animal kinds at that time, but not many types within the kind. When the time arrived, the Lord brought all the animals (kinds) that He chose to the place close to the ark. Noah alone could not gather all the animals, so the Lord gathered them. Noah had a duty to fulfill his part. When the Lord brought the animals, He did change them: one pair of one kind, that pair carried all other animal types within the kind that the Lord had in plan to populate. The Lord had prepared them, and within themselves, they had all that was needed when they multiplied. Specifically, when one pair of a kind makes offspring, their offspring will be of a different type within the kind. For example, when one kind of bird would lay eggs, each egg could hatch a different type of bird (within the kind). Depending on the size of the animal pair, when they give birth, it is not of themselves but of the Lord: the Lord makes the pair multiply as He desires. This act is the same as the Lord creating all new animals again on the earth through those animals from the ark. The Lord provided a rich genetic variation within all kinds of animals such that one pair of animals would give birth to different types of animals as the Lord saw fit to populate the earth after the flood. When the water went down, all the animals got out of the ark. But when they go to one place, their offspring will be but unlike themselves; that is the way the Lord mixed them all over again from a small number of pairs.

Q: How can we have many types of humans from just four families that survived the flood? A: First, we need to set our thoughts clear in our minds and start from Creation. When the Lord created humans, in the first pair of humans, Adam and Eve, the Lord put within their genes all possible races of humans. When they multiply, all those human races pass through each of them. Look at any family with children; each child will carry the genes from both parents. After the flood, when the Lord spread humans all over the world, each one of them multiplied in the way of the Lord. The same parents multiplied different types of children. You can see this happening even during this time. The Lord has put specific genes within all humans to multiply as He would like them to be. From your own children, the next generation will be different, and further down in time, the new generations will be different from what we have at this time.

Genesis 8, Biblical Comments; ASV Bible Text

1 And God remembered Noah, and all the beasts, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; 2 the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; 3 and the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters decreased. 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. …

Comments Genesis 8. The Lord has given us the Bible. People read but never think of the power of God. Have you thought about where God keeps all the water above the earth and where He keeps all the water under the earth, which the Bible talks about in this chapter? The Lord covers them all; He is above that water as well, and everything is under His palms. You can imagine the Lord’s hands: one hand above and one hand below, and everything between His hands is under His control. We humans can never be able to think how big and powerful the Lord is.

Genesis 12, Biblical Comments; ASV Bible Text

1 Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, unto the land that I will show you: 2 and I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and be you a blessing: … 10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was sore in the land. 11 And it came to pass, … 17 And Jehovah plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that you have done unto me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife? 19 Why said you, She is my sister, so that I took her to be my wife? Now therefore behold your wife, take her, and go your way. 20 And Pharaoh gave men charge concerning him: and they brought him on the way, and his wife, and all that he had.

Comments Genesis 12. In this chapter, the most important point is that the Lord wants to show that whoever He chooses, He also will protect. Even if that person had sinned, he is still a chosen one. In this chapter, we see the Lord’s hand upon Abram; even though Abram made mistakes, the protection of the Lord does not mix with his sin. The love of the Lord is seen clearly here. People nowadays have acted foolishly as well, but through the blood of His beloved Son Jesus, the Lord has forgiven them all. If any person comes to accept the beloved Son’s mercy, the mercy of the Father will be shown to that person as well.

Genesis 13, Biblical Comments; ASV Bible Text

1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South. 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the South even to Beth-el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-el and Ai, 4 unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah. … 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray you, between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate yourself, I pray you, from me: if you will take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left. … 18 And Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto Jehovah.

Comments Genesis 13. When reading this chapter, all humans think of one thing: possessions of earthly things. But think again: how did Abram answer to his cousin? Abram was a humble man, and the purpose of this chapter is for humans to learn about humbleness, but humans look only at the earthly things. Today, we have many prosperity Gospel ministries, but those ways of belief contradict the Word of God. Nowhere in the Bible does it concentrate on the riches of this world; those who search the things of this earth will inherit the things of this earth. But those whose hearts are searching for the Word of God will inherit the life eternal with the Lord.
